Greek myth used by many composers. One of the most famous treatments was by C.W. Gluck in a work that premiered in 1762; it was known as as a reform opera because it eliminated some of the excesses of the Baroque style. It's most famous sections are the Dance of the Blessed Spirits and "Che faro senza Eurydice".
