serva padrona, La
La serva padrona-intermezzo or opera buffa in two acts by Pergolesi; first performed, as was the custom, as intermission pieces between the acts of an opera seria. It contain only three roles: a bass, a soprano, and a non-singing part. It was very important in the history of comic opera.
